Black, blue, gray, silver, cream and white Poodles have black noses, eye-rims and lips, black or self colored toenails and very dark eyes. Breeding for appearance was only introduced in the 19th Century. Before this time dogs and puppies were bred to increase useful abilities and traits helpful for the duties they were intended for. Breeders know their dog breed the best and should be able to give you the temperament of their puppies and any special care the specific breed needs. Take your time as you are making a commitment that will last a decade or more.
